Customized Hot Cold Rolled 153MA Stainless Steel Coil Strip ASTM AISI
S30415 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel formulated for primary forming into wrought products. Cited properties are appropriate for the annealed condition. S30415 is the UNS number for this material. 153 MA is the common industry name.
Stainless steel 153 MA can be welded using techniques like submerged arc welding, plasma arc welding, flux-cored arc welding and shielded metal arc welding. It is essential to have pure Ar with 2-3 % hydrogen additions as the base of the shielding and welding gases to obtain optimal penetration and corrosion resistance. The alloy is then hot formed at temperatures ranging from 900 to 1150°C (1652 to 2102°F) followed by rapid cooling. The alloy also has excellent cold forming properties. Finally, the alloy is heat treated at 1020 to 1100°C (1868 to 2012°F).
